P.K. Abu Baker

Born at Calicut on 1st July, 1937 , S/o Late M.V. Hydross, Advocate, Calicut. Joined as Junior in Public Works Department, Pondicherry in 1961 and retired as Superintending Engineer, P.W.D., Pondicherry in 1995. During the span of over three and half decades designed, executed and commissioned number of major construction works under buildings for Education, Medical and Industrial sectors and also Roads and Bridges Sector. Had good exposure to all works related to Industrial Estates of Pondicherry.

After specialization as a Fellow of W.H.O. entrusted with the design, estimation, execution and commissioning of two major works A) Comprehensive Water Supply Scheme for Union Territory of Pondicherry. B) Sewerage Scheme for Pondicherry town.Both these major works were inaugurated by Hon’ble Central Ministers Sri.Venkitaraman (President of India) and Sri.Bhramanantha Reddy. At the time of retirement holding two Circles having jurisdiction in regions of Pondicherry , Karaikkal (Tamil Nadu) Yanam (Andhra Pradesh) and Mahe(Kerala)

M.Tech from Calcutta University

WHO Fellow in UK,Germany,Hungary,Netherlands,and Yugoslavia for comprehensive studies and training in water supply and sewerage

Short course in Loughborough University,England

British Council representative in a seminar in Birmingham,England

UNDP expert to Dhaka, Bangladesh

Wife - Mrs.Mumtaz , a house wife

Son - Dr.Babu Shersad M.D, an American Board Certified Nephrologist from University of Chicago.

Consultant Welcare Hospital , Dubai. Having his own Clinic , First Medicals , Dubai.

Daughter in law - Dr.Fouzia , Prof. Dubai Medical College.

Daughter - Mrs.Sabeena , Lecturer Dubai Medical College. Enrolled for PhD.
